0 painting of Coco leaving Dartmouth estuary Painted 2024-5
Here is the final painting of Coco (my clients yacht). After many trips to dartmouth finding the right angle, this was the one we settled on. Then, the problems started - what sails would be up, how would the westerly wind affect the sails, what ensigns are set? etc...etc... After much deliberation, my client was happy, and i proceeded.
0 News and thoughts about my career.
So, last year I was made a member of the Royal Institute for painters in watercolour. An acolade which, for me, was an affirmation of my lifetime endeavours as an artist. It was a joyous moment to have been given such an award. It made me reflect on my life and my endeavours since my chidhood, sketching with a pencil and drawing anything and everything. Little did I imagine that it would all culminate in me being selected as a member into the Royal Institute. Last year was also a very good year financially. I recieved a call from a client who asked me to paint several large canvases of the surrounding sea and landscape on Hayling Island. It culminated in me painting 7 paintings. This year he also commissioned me to paint a picture of his yacht, which i completed this March 2025.
